MM Contemporary Dance Company is an outstanding ensemble of Italian dance, with consolidated activity of shows all over the country. Based in Reggio Emilia and founded in 1999, the Company is directed by Italian choreographer Michele Merola and its repertoire is composed of a various range of styles: Merola’s works and other creations of choreographers such as Maguy Marin, Mats Ek, Mauro Bigonzetti, Thomas Noone, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Karl Alfred Schreiner, Eugenio Scigliano, Emanuele Soavi, Enrico Morelli, Daniele Ninarello, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi. The Company tours extensively in European countries as well as in Korea, Colombia, Canada, Russia, Germany, Morocco and Belgium.
On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, Michele Merola created a new choreography on the “Pastoral Symphony” which draws inspiration from nature and investigates its ancestral relationship with the human being.
